WHY GOD…do I struggle with anxiety and depression?
Jesus is victorious over everything, right?
Sometimes we believe if we have enough faith, the problems of this life will go away. Mental health is a huge issue and, for a long time, the church counted it all as a faith issue. We do believe that anxiety and depression can be caused by spirits, but sometimes it is just a result of living in a fallen world that includes illness, imbalance, and chaos. In this sermon, we’re going to peel the complicated onion of anxiety, depression, and why a good God won’t just take it all away.

WHY GOD... am I lonely?

God created us for community. In the early church we see the answer to loneliness is found in the koinonia of God’s Kingdom. When we share all things of life (good, bad, and ugly) we are made stronger and more complete in Christ.

Moses | THE HALL OF FLAW

Moses had great faith, but his anger ultimately kept him from the Promise Land. Out of control anger can keep us from being faithful to God’s will.

Jacob | HALL OF FLAW

Jacob deceived his father and brother, only to end up being deceived himself. He found redemption through wrestling with God. No matter what it takes, God will achieve his will despite our sins and failures.

We cannot say we trust God if we try to bring about His promises on our own. We must learn to trust in His timing and faithfulness.

When we fail to measure up, God is our righteousness. God himself came to stand before the judgement seat. Thank you Jesus for being our Jehovah Tsidkenu so that we may be still and know our God.
